1971 Datsun 240Z Series 1 6cyl 4-Speed Silver Restored Documented West Coast Car
CMC is proud to present this very rare early Series 1 1971 Datsun 240Z. Powered by the 2.4 Litre inline 6 Cylinder and backed by its 4 Speed manual transmission, these were some of the most advanced cars of there time. Being a rust free Series 1 with owners history and full documentation, this is a hard one to duplicate.
This 1971 Datsun 204Z was sold new at Crown Motors in Lynnwood, Washington on November 25, 1970. The car resided in Seattle most of its life up until 2007. The car has the complete owners history from new and only had 3 owners from new.
The first 240Z were considered Series 1 Cars. They were easily identifiable with air vent below the rear window in the hatch. The early cars were built until Mid 1971. After this generation of cars, the 1972 and later models suffered from strict emission requirements and regulation. Today the Series 1 Z cars are considered the most collectible.
The restoration of the this car has taken place approximately 4 years ago. The car had a rust free body an was in excellent original condition. The car had a complete bare metal show quality repaint in the original Silver metallic exterior During the restoration the car had new carpets installed. The rest of the interior is all original and is remarkable condition. The dash pad is flawless which is near impossible to find and a testament to how well the previous owners loved and cherish this car. The exterior chrome was chrome plated. The car had new tires installed. The car also received a new windshield. The end result today is a show quality Z Car.
Mechanically, The 2.4 Litre 6 Cylinder engine runs great and pulls strongs. The 4 Speed manual transmission shifts well in all gears. The clutch feels some and disengages well. The car is a pleasure to drive. The car has repair and maintenance receipts all the way back to 1972. This is why the car runs and drives so well today.
